Privacy Policy

Bodyguard on Demand™ ("BOD", "we", "us") provides on-demand private protection services booked through our mobile apps and website (the "Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Bodyguard on Demand™ iOS and Android apps and to app.bodyguardsondemand.com.

1. Information we collect

Account details — name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and phone number if you add one.
Protection requests — dates, times, pickup and destination addresses, itinerary stops, operator preferences (armed/unarmed, attire, language), vehicle requests, and any notes you write for our dispatchers.
Precise location — the addresses you enter for a request, and, during an active detail, location shared for coordination between you and your assigned operator. We do not track your location in the background when you are not using the app.
Payment information — handled by Stripe. Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout and never touch our servers; we store only a Stripe customer reference, the card brand, last four digits and expiry for display.
Trusted contacts — names and phone numbers you choose to add so we can reach someone on your behalf in an emergency.
Messages — chat messages between you, our dispatchers and your assigned operator, and feedback you submit.
Device and usage data — device push-notification token, device platform, app version, and server logs (IP address, timestamps, request paths) kept for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use it

To review, quote, dispatch and carry out the protection details you request, including vetting the request against sanctions and service-area rules.
To place and capture the refundable deposit and to invoice the agreed quote.
To communicate with you: quotes, status updates, operator assignment, receipts, email verification and password resets, and push notifications you have allowed.
To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal, accounting and safety obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

Our dispatchers and assigned protection operators, who see the details needed to carry out your request.
Stripe (payments), Mapbox (maps and address search), Resend (transactional email), Apple and Google/Firebase (push notifications), and DigitalOcean (hosting). Each receives only what it needs to provide its function.
Law enforcement or other parties when required by law, or when necessary to protect the safety of you, our operators or others.

4. Retention

We keep your account information while your account is active. Records of completed or cancelled details (dates, locations, amounts) are retained for accounting, dispute and safety purposes for up to seven years, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Push tokens are removed when you sign out, uninstall the app, or delete your account.

5. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time:

In the app: Account → Delete account.
On the web: app.bodyguardsondemand.com/deleteAccount.

Deletion removes your profile, contact details, trusted contacts, saved payment methods and push tokens immediately. Records of completed details are anonymized and retained as described above. Accounts with an open request must cancel or complete it first.

6. Your choices and rights

Update your profile, trusted contacts and payment methods in the app at any time.
Turn push and email notifications off in Account → Notifications (critical detail-status alerts still send).
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are hashed, payment details are held by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1), and access to dispatch systems is limited to authorized staff.

8. Children

The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We will post any changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
